Snowpocalypse 2025

A small gallery and description of the 3-4 inches of snowfall we received overnight in January of 2025.

Snowpocalypse 2025
Snowy view from the back porch, looking at the small pool house and lounge chairs next to the pool, all blanketed in snow.

It started around 6pm, Tuesday January 21st. A lite glazing of sleet began to collect on flat services. On the concrete areas, it would melt before it could get too icy.

Then, by about 8pm, the snow started....

It continued to snow throughout the night, with the temperature reaching the mid-twenties by midnight. Whenever I would wake, I would roll over and check the Smart Panel we have in the bedroom, keeping an eye on the progression.

By morning, this was the scene:

The road leading into our neighborhood is pretty well covered, too. We have no snow plows to speak of in this town.

A portrait shot of the rural road leading into our neighborhood, mostly covered in snow, and flanked by snow-covered trees on either side.

All you snowbirds are likely laughing, and that's fair. This is just a small 3-4 inches of snow. But here in SC, we aren't equipped to handle this white stuff. So we just shut down into hibernation mode.

Sure is pretty to look at, though! And at least we still have power, for now.

Here's a shot of the Smart Panel for posterity.

Screenshot of the smart panel, showing 6 of our cameras, all providing snow-covered scenes from around the yard. On the right panel is weather radar and data, showing the temp at a crisp 19.9 degrees Fahrenheit, along with other temperature data from our outbuildings.
